Seven Roman Catholic Dioceses in Pennsylvania have set up a victim compensation fund to compensate child sexual victims abuse. The Fund will cover victims going back to abuse that occurred in the 1940s.
The Dioceses are Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Scranton, Allentown, Greensburg, Erie, and Pittsburgh. The Fund is overseen by US Sen. George Mitchell of Maine, former interim Philadelphia District Attorney Kelley Hodge and Lawrence Stengel a retired Federal Judge.
Because of the sensitivity of the abuse of all victims and their families, names and information will be kept in the strictest confidence.
The Fund will not use money set aside for church activities or the help the needy. It will not dip into funds for charities, seminaries, donor-designated gifts or donations to parishes, ministries or schools. The money to pay victims will come from the sale of properties and insurance compensation.
Our experience team will register and help you maximize the amount of compensation you are owed.
