The Roman Catholic Dioceses of New Jersey have announced a state-wide Independent Victim Compensation Program (IVCP) to pay victims of clergy sexual abuse. The program has been endorsed by all five of the state’s Dioceses (Newark, Trenton, Camden, Paterson and Metuchen). The program will provide victims a straightforward and quick process for resolving their claims, without the stress of having to go through civil litigation. All claims must be submitted by December 31, 2019.
Because of the sensitivity of the abuse of all victims and their families, names and information will be kept in the strictest confidence.
The Fund will not use money set aside for church activities or the help the needy. It will not dip into funds for charities, seminaries, donor-designated gifts or donations to parishes, ministries or schools. The money to pay victims will come from the sale of properties and insurance compensation.
Our experience team will register and help you maximize the amount of compensation you are owed.
